The AAA Standards Development Journey follows a transparent and systematic 10-step process designed to ensure that all standards are evidence-based, internationally benchmarked, practical, and responsive to stakeholder needs.
The process begins with identifying healthcare needs and priorities, followed by research and benchmarking against national and international best practices. Technical committees and subject matter experts are then formed to develop the draft standards.
During the development stage, draft standards are shared with stakeholders and external experts for consultation, review, and feedback to ensure relevance and applicability. The standards then undergo field testing and pilot surveys in real healthcare settings to evaluate clarity, feasibility, usability, and effectiveness.
Following validation and analysis of all feedback and pilot findings, the standards are refined, finalized, and submitted for approval. This structured development journey supports transparency, stakeholder engagement, and continuous quality improvement throughout the standards development process. Interested parties are welcome to contribute to the standards development process. If you are interested in reviewing and providing feedback on draft standards you may submit a request via email to healthcare@aaa-accreditation.org, and a copy of the relevant draft standards will be shared for consultation and comments.
Your contribution and feedback is important to us
AAA is committed to fostering an open and transparent feedback environment. AAA implemented a standardized mechanism to ensure that feedback regarding healthcare accreditation standards is effectively gathered, analysed, and utilized for continuous improvement according to the Accreditation Standards Feedback Policy (Document No. P-HEC-10-V1).
The AAA feedback analysis includes specific metrics or key performance indicators (KPIs) for tracking patterns in feedback over time. Metrics are “frequency of feedback on specific standards” and “number of requests for clarification on terminology”.
All AAA customers and stakeholders are requested to provide feedback concerning their experience with AAA accreditation standards manual using the email healthcare@aaa-accreditation.org.
Stakeholder Feedback Is Part of the Process
AAA welcomes healthcare stakeholders and interested parties to contribute to standards development and provide feedback on draft standards and the accreditation standards manual.
